Absco Aviary 1.5m x 1.5m Shed

We love our Aussie Sheds Aviaries & so do our birds!! We purchased our first aviary from Cheap Sheds in 2010, just two weeks before our wedding. We were pleasantly surprised when an early wedding present arrived one week before our wedding.

Most couples wouldn't think about putting up an aviary a couple of days before their big day, but we just couldn't wait to see what it looked like. We were prepared for lots of arguments & a possible break up even before we got married, but thankfully that wasn't the case. The aviary was easy to assemble & only took us a day from start to finish. Our rainbow lorikeets loved their new lavish home and got lots of exercise flying from perch to perch. Almost 3 years later & their aviary still look as if it were new. It's simple to clean & extremely resistant to the harsh QLD weather.

When we recently adopted our 2 Quaker parrots, we knew exactly where we were going to get their new home from...Cheap Sheds of course! We are very happy with our aviaries and I know our feathered family are too!

With a birthday coming up in March, my very kind husband of 33 years asked me if there was anything I particularly would like. For ages an aviary has been on my wish list and not in my wilderest dreams did I think it possible, mentioned the idea to him.

Amazed at his response, I began searching the net for the best deal. Things were not looking too good, as the ones that I found were way out of our price. Then by chance I came across Cheap Sheds.

There was the exact one I wanted and surprisingly we could afford it. Then began the process of getting it from Queensland to our little country town in NSW. How easy it was. The team at Cheap Sheds was so helpful. Free of charge it was delivered to our local produce store for us to pick up, within a week.

Then began the process of assembling it. Again too easy. Everything fitted perfectly and the instructions were easy to follow. Hubby is not always good at following instructions, so if a few unpleasant words flew, I would say, “read the instructions”, and all was good.

I bought the birds from a local breeder and they have settled in well. The Gouldians already have babies. I love my aviary; it reminds me of my dad, long passed on, who for as long as I can remember always had aviary birds. They were his passion and now thanks to Cheap Sheds I can enjoy my own and share the pleasure with my grandchildren.

I love my shed/aviary because since I purchased it I have been able to be an active member of Sydney Wildlife.

I rescue native animals and rehabilitate them so they can be released back into the wild. Since March when I bought the aviary I have rescued at least 60 possums both ring tails and brush tails, tawny frog mouths, kookaburras, rainbow lorikeets, cockatoos, bandicoots, a feather tail glider, magpies, wood ducks and pacific black ducks.

The aviary is never empty. At the moment I have 20 possums, 19 of which are babies that we have raised, some from less than 80gms. The babies love being able to run around the aviary at night and learn to find their own food in safety.

This aviary has been perfect. The service when I bought was great and the price was right.

Thank you for helping me help these native animals. Hopefully we can keep our native animals thriving and be there in the future for our kids and their kids as well.

PS. As I was writing this I had another 2 calls to rescue injured possums...It never stops!!

Life has been a little up and down lately. We moved to our new address recently. We had to wait almost 3 months for settlement. My birds had to be looked after at someone else's house.

I bought one of your aviaries online soon after we purchased the property and my partner has put it together for me. I have budgies and cockatiels. My oldest cockatiel has now been with me for about 15 years. One of my budgies was born without flight feathers. Without the ability to fly he needs ramps to be able to get off the ground to sleep or down to get food and water. So my great partner built a series of ramps in the cage for him.

The cage is fantastic. My partner had put a garden shed up for me before and he was not looking forward to the job, but it all went together really well and he needed very little help to complete it.

The seven canaries living in a moderate sized cage managed to multiply rather rapidly, so a bigger home was needed. This was achieved with an Absco aviary, and some patience on the side of mother and son.

It seems the new home encouraged more multiplication, but is coping very well. Some young members of the family have now found a new home.

I needed to upgrade my existing aviary as it was rather old and needed repairing, so after a lot of searching, I discovered Cheap Sheds.

They were amazing and in no time, the new aviary arrived. We rallied together a couple of family members to help with the construction over a lovely home cooked meal.

The aviary was built under a tall Silver Birch that provides shade on a warm day for my feathered friends. They love their new home and it is an attractive addition to my garden.

My aviary is a homed away from home. It has become my sanctuary where I can escape my problems and my family who can sometimes become overwhelming. It has allowed my to house my own family of budgies and through its easy instructions how quickly it was built, meaning it was painless.

The aviary is in the area, which you can allow yourself to be absorbed in then pure beauty of animals and I know it will protect them, as it is strong and durable. I love my aviary and it has become an important addition to my family.

Recently I purchased 2 of the above aviaries to house some of my reptiles. My 8.5ft diamond python, Dorothy will be moving into one of them. The other one will be used as a day cage in the summer months for my frilled lizards.

I had a palm tree in the backyard so I cut the top off it. I then used an axe to make chops up and down the palm stump. This is because the frilled lizards like to sit vertically and this will allow their claws to grip the trunk with ease.

I then built that aviary around the palm stump. The photos submitted are of the day cage featuring Calculon the frilly.

I purchased my Absco shed from no other than "Cheap Sheds" because I was looking for a better place to house my growing backyard chicken flock.

Purpose-built chicken coops are often small, fragile, and low-quality timber structures, and I just couldn't find anything suitable. Also, I was reluctant to build my own coop from scratch as this endeavor would still be costly and I'm no carpenter anyway. Therefore, whilst searching eBay I stumbled on a large Absco shed (aviary type) which got me thinking outside the box.

With a small amount of modification, I could turn this shed into an awesome chicken coop, which not only could easily house my hens but it would be easy to erect and very reasonably priced! Well, my Absco shed arrived from Cheap Sheds within two days from purchasing and armed with my power drill and the easy to understand assembly instructions I got to work. After a few hours, and several minor alterations my Absco chicken coop shed was done and the girls loved it!

My chickens have never laid so good and over 12 months later I'm still singing the praises of Cheap Sheds and Absco for helping me to solve my "clucky dilemma" in selling me such a fine product.

I thought I was doing well - my shed arrived, my weeros were excited and I had organised a handyman to come and put it together - until he arrived - pored over the plan sheet - shook his head wisely and said "that's a 2 man job - at least 3 hours!" Calculating that my aviary would cost over $500 to put together (+ GST) I shook too my head (mournfully) and said 'forget it, I'll get my brother!"

The wise man was right - it did take me and my baby brother (with my 81 year old dad and 10 year old niece supervising) 3 hours on a Sunday afternoon...and there was a lot of poring over the plan...but a fun afternoon was had by all...and my weeros (Mo, Larry, Curly, Dotty and Spotty) are very happy...and I think my flock might be growing....
